Stunning vintage Mid-Century Modern lounge or club chair attributed to Erwin Lambeth’s Sophisticate collection comprised of light hardwood with a cerused finish & reupholstered in an Italian off-white chenille dot fabric called Zamba by Matthew Williamson for Osborne Little. Gorgeous condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There are a couple very small color difference spots in the wood trim around top we feel are factory spots in the cerused finish. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid Century. The epitome of excellence…that’s the best way to describe this absolutely gorgeous Mid-Century Modern club or lounge chair attributed to Erwin-Lambeth’s Sophisticate line. In the designer furniture world, some attribute this style chair to Tomlinson Furniture however, because Tomlinson did not merge with Erwin-Lambeth until the later 80’s, we know that Erwin-Lambeth had already designed this chair. Either way, it is a fabulous chair comprised of light hardwood with a cerused finish on the curved back trim, straight front legs, and splayed back legs… it’s a simple, yet stunning design! And not only is the chair itself incredible…how about THIS FABRIC!! It has been reupholstered in an elite Italian off-white chenille raised dot fabric called “Zamba” by Matthew Williamson for Osborne Little. It’s simply luxurious!! This lovely lounge chair would be beautiful in your bedroom outside of your closet or in your Mid-Century Modern style living room next to an end table or opposite your sofa and coffee table. Place it next to a bookshelf and floor lamp for a quiet and comfortable place to sit in style and read the latest best-seller. Whatever room you choose to use this elegant, impressive lounge chair or club, you certainly can’t go wrong. Erwin Lambeth a prestigious furniture company based in none other than, Thomasville, North Carolina…. of course. Erwin Lambeth, originally a family run business, was started in 1901 as Standard Chair Company. However, in 1947 upon the death of James Erwin Lambeth Snr., the name was changed to Erwin Lambeth and was run by James Erwin Lambeth Jr. and his wife, Katherine “KC” Lambeth. Their focus was producing high-end mid-century furnishings for the design trade only and KC’s influence as a woman, a designer, and the first President of the company was infused into every piece. In the 1980s Erwin Lambeth merged with Tomlinson Furniture, who are still creators of Fine furniture today. Erwin Lambeth pieces are frequently compared to and mistaken for mid-century greats such as Milo Baughman, Pierre Cardin, and Selig.
