About the Item

Lounge Seating Elements designed and manufactured by an unknown German manufacturer. The design has similarities with the Amanta Seating Group from Mario Bellini (B&B Italia). White fibreglass shells on wooden feet with very thick and comfortable newly upholstered cushions. Speckled fabric in a stone pattern. Multiple elements available also for different upholstery.

Shell lounge chair, model FH 1936 designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1948 and shortly manufactured by Fritz Hansen in the early fifties. After the second world war various designers experimented with molded plywood. This chair was one of the results of Wegners efforts with at that time new technique of the future. The frame is executed with traditional cabinetmaker's work in solid beech wood and two molded plywood shells in teak veneer. The chair is in very good solid condition and has some old joint repairs. Here we have a very rare opportunity, a large set of five Otto Zapf 1967 'sofalette' modular seating elements and a very rare 'Sofalette' corner table in fibreglass Newly upholstered in 100% cotton Canvas by Romo and comes complete with the original and usually missing loose cushions.
