Mart Stam Lounge Chair for Thonet in Weathered Solid Iroko and Stainless Steel, Germany, early 21st century.
Beautiful and rare lounge version of the S40 chair by Mart Stam, which is no longer in production. Early 21st century edition by Thonet in wonderful wearthered iroko wood. Great colors and patination on the wood, combined with a very high-end frame in stainless steel. Timeless and rare, this chair with patinated wooden slats is a true addition to any stylish interior or patio.
This comes from a series of garden chairs that match the classic S 43 by Mart Stam in their construction and design: clear and reserved in their form, with ideal sitting comfort and high quality with respect to materials and processing. Under the model name B 33 g (g = garden) these chairs were first presented in the 1935 Thonet catalog.
