Mid Century solid oak hunting chairs by Heinz Heger, Germany 1950s

About the Item

Manufactured by PGH Erzgebirgisches Kunsthandwerk Annaberg Buchholz, Germany in the 1950s. Pair of lounge chairs with ottomans, crafted from oak and fabric in Germany during the 1950s. These relaxing chairs, reminiscent of hunting chairs, boast a simple yet elegant design, exemplified by the expertly crafted oak frames. Elevated by high legs, they exude an open and inviting character. The intricate wood-joints and laced seating further enhance their appeal. A charming detail is the visible white string beneath the cushioning on the frames. The ottomans mirror the trapezium and tapered design of the chairs, while adorned with brown upholstered cushions, ensuring a comfortable lounging experience. In good vintage condition with lovely patina. Reupholstered, structurally sound. Dimensions: Height 64 cm, Width: 60 cm, Depth 82 cm, Seat Height 40 cm. Price per one chair with footrest. Two chairs with ottomans available as well as a matching coffee table to accompany the set.
