The house belonged to a retired architect, one of that rare generation who’d trained in the 1950s and still lived among the pieces they’d once sketched into their blueprints. The interior was frozen in time: teak sideboards paired with concrete planters, brutalist lighting over soft sheepskins, a perfectly lived-in Bauhaus-meets-rural-modernism mashup. And there, half tucked beneath a wool throw and beside an Eileen Grey side table, sat the pair — Mid-Century Lounge Chairs by R.W. Toothill. Understated, but impeccable.
