About the Item

Adapting Greek and Roman forms to create bold expressions of neoclassicism this elegant pair of open armchairs reflect the work of the eccentric Classicist Thomas Hope. Expertly restored, chairs of Klismos form, the rectangular armrests with foliated decorations rest on the head of two griffin-form with outstretched wings, sculpted with particular softness.
