The wooden structure has been restored. The chrome-plated metal is original from the period, but is in very good condition, with only minor Dimensions: W67cm x W70cm x H80cm x Seat41cm About Moveis Novo Rumo: Moveis Novo Rumo was a furniture studio and factory in Lapa, São Paulo founded by Francesco Scapinelli, an architect and ceramist, brother of the famous designer Giuseppe Scapinelli. Novo Rumo produced furniture of excellent quality on an industrial scale, using noble woods from Brazil such as jacaranda from Bahia, in both solid and veneered pieces. Their furniture is always inventive, with a unique design and high quality craftsmanship. The design of some of Novo Rumo's pieces is often mistaken with that of L'Atelier (the company that manufactured designer Jorge Zalszupin's pieces) and vice versa. This is explained not only by the fact that Zalzupin collaborated and contributed to the production of Moveis Novo Rumo, but also by the fact that several L'Atelier employees left the company to join Novo Rumo. After several years at the head of Novo Rumo, Francesco Scapinelli, "Checco", returned to his old passion and successfully resumed the design and production of artistic ceramics in Brazil and abroad with Della Robbia, his new factory. In 1990, "Checco" decided to return to Italy and continue working as a ceramist, and did so until his death in 2014.
