Pair of Danish 1940s Channel Back Club Chairs Attributed to Fritz Hansen

About the Item

Pair of sublime medium size club chairs very similar to Fritz Hansen's famous model 1518 but with a little bit less size and heft and likely made around 1950 judging from the armrest design. The chairs are unmarked and we are not sure of Designer/Maker but since we see this design from time time to time we know it has to be from a prolific maker Fritz Hansen being the most likely one. Superbly comfortable with elegant proportions and a charming and very strong presence to anchor any room. Raised on carved beech wood legs. Spring coils in the backrest and the seat. Overall very good sturdy condition and original wool fabric in still usable condition. We are able to reupholster the chair at a very attractive price and can recover in a 100% Australian merino lambs wool or in real shearling while retaining the channels in the backrest.
