Philip Arctander Sheepskin Clam Chair by Vik & Blindheim
About the Item
"Muslingestolen", aka "the clam chair" lounge chair designed in 1944 by Danish architect Philip Arctander.
The chair was first produced in Denmark by Nordisk Staal & Mobel Central. This slightly later version was produced under license by Vik & Blindheim in Norway in the early 1950s, and is slightly larger than the Danish productions. It features stained oak club legs and curved arms.
Recently reupholstered in tufted shearling.
