Stig Poulsson, lounge chair, model 'Bequem', leather, aluminum, ash, Denmark, designed 1968-1969 This 'Bequem' lounge chair is designed by Stig Poulsson. The most striking feature of this extraordinary chair is its sheer size. The width of this chair, almost a meter, is relatively large. Due to this, the chair has a stately, grand appearance. The design holds a simple, strict and clean metal frame with a horizontal ash slat with a soft, loosely hanging leather seat and leather armrests. The chair has been made in a very small production, only a hundred items were made. The first chairs were sold out of Mr. Poulsson’s design store in Kronprinsensgade in Copenhagen and soon thereafter, some were sold for export to US and a few European countries in selected design stores. Kindly take note that the leather is in patinated condition with spots and stains. One leather strap contains a tear on its end, and therefore needs to be restored. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come.
