About the Item

Designed in the manner of Paul Frankl, this three-strand rattan lounge chair features half moon arms and an oversized cobra seat back. Included is the matching stacked rattan ottoman. Lounge chair: 31" tall x 36" wide x 38" deep, seat height 15.5" Ottoman: 12" tall x 22" wide x 22" deep Restored to new for you. This was made by Ritts co, Tropitan , Herb Sr. and Shirley Ritts. Shirley was an American interior designer, furniture designer, and Movie Art Director, their company helped to popularize rattan furniture in the United States during the 1940s thru 1960s. Shirley Ritts was the mother of photographer and music video director, Herb Ritts Jr..Shirley Ritts was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 28, 1920. Herb Ritts Sr. also invented the "S springs" under the cushions in the early 50's You see them on a lot of different rattan items in the 40's though the 70's The Ritts's were a giant in the Rattan Industry as was Paul Laszlo, Paul Frankl, and C.W. Fishbeck of Tropical Sun Rattan of Pasadena (started 1905) Custom cushions C.O.M. (Costumer's Own Material) are included in the price. Simply supply the fabric and we have the cushions made for you. If you need help sourcing fabric we can help! All rattan, bamboo, and wicker furniture has been painstakingly refurbished to the highest standards with the best materials. All refinishing is done by rattan workers with over 20 years of experience in rattan refinishing. Every wrapping and joint has been inspected by “The Rattan Man” Harvey Schwartz to guarantee you the finest product available for years to come for your home or office. Harvey Schwartz is the leading expert in vintage rattan and author of "Rattan Furniture: Tropical Comfort Throughout the House." Signed copies are available on request for $39.99 USD.
