Scandinavian Pine and Iron Lounge Chair by Åby Möbelfabrik, Sweden, 1930s

About the Item

Scandinavian barrel pine and iron lounge chair, attributed to Axel Einar Hjorth, manufactured by Åby Möbelfabrik in Sweden, 1930s. Featuring a very clean and minimalist design, this lounge chair is made of beautiful stained pine and forged iron fittings. It features a unique design resembling the look of a wooden barrel, a fabulous look which is mainly achieved by the forged iron fittings around the backrest which are secured to the pine body by large round iron nails, serving both a functional and aesthetic role, giving the armchair an even more interesting look. This chair is attributed to Axel Einar Hjorth and was manufactured by Åby Möbelfabrik in Sweden back in the 1930s. Unique in every way, this piece will add character to one's interior and brighten up the space with this fabulous design.
