Wilkhahn Series 800 leather armchair by Hans Peter Piel

About the Item

This lounge chair is upholstered in dark brown faux leather and is in excellent condition. The leather cover of the body and the cushions show hardly any signs of wear, the seating comfort is impeccable and the chrome frame is in good condition. The clear lines of this armchair and the lightness of the chrome frame make up the timeless design. The German designer Hans Peter Piel designed the 800 series for Wilkhahn in the 1960s. More than 100 years ago, the Wilkhahn company was founded by Friedrich Hahne and Christian Wilkening as a chair factory. In 1946, contact was made with the Deutsche Werkstätten with the designers Georg Leowald and Herbert Hirche, who worked in the tradition of the Bauhaus. Since then, Wilkhahn has been one of the premium manufacturers of office furniture.
