Mid-Century French Louis XV Red Leather Carved Painted and Gilt Desk Armchair
About the Item
Add a pop of color to your office or study with this elegant antique painted and gilt desk armchair. Crafted in Provence France circa 1960, the chair stands on cabriole legs decorated with carved floral motifs at the shoulder, and ending with escargot feet, over a scalloped apron embellished with carved foliage. The Provencal painted frame features a pitched back decorated with hand carved floral motifs at the pediment. Both back, wide and deep seat and open armrests are upholstered with a rouge leather upholstery embellished with fine gilt patterned trim. The colorful Louis XV style desk chair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich two-tone beige and parcel gilt patinated painted finish.
