About the Item

Luciano Frigeri Lounge Chair and Ottomann "SAMURAI", Italy, 1960s Introducing the "Samuray" lounge chair and ottoman, an Italian midcentury design by Luciano Frigerio. Crafted in the 1960s, this set boasts a sturdy walnut frame with original leather belts and vibrant red suede upholstery. Its thick seat and beautiful patina make it a stunning addition to any interior space, including living rooms, family rooms, screening rooms, and offices. It's also perfect for hospitality or corporate locations, such as boutique hotel lobbies, cocktail bars, members' clubs, or luxury lofts. Though it has a minor patina on the wood and suede parts, it's still in excellent condition. Opting for used midcentury design furniture is a sustainable choice that repurposes what's already available. Midcentury design furniture often lasts for several lifetimes and has a rich history visible through the signs of wear, providing a glimpse into its previous owner's life. Born in Desio in 1928, Luciano Frigerio attended the Collegio Paola di Rosa in Desio, where he met his school friend Tommaso Giussani. Over the years, their friendship grew, and in 1982, Monsignor Giussani commissioned Frigerio to make two lecterns for Pope John XXIII. These lecterns can still be seen in the Basilica di S. Pietro e Paolo in Roma, positioned under the altar of Bernini Bernini. Frigerio completed his technical and administrative studies at the Pio XI College, gaining his diploma in Accounting while pursuing his two great passions: designing furniture and composing music.
