Egg Rocking Chair attributed to Josef Hoffmann for Società Anonima Antonio Volpe, circa 1920. Breathtaking, rare and elegant rocking chair. Black lacquered beech bentwood and viennese woven rattan, multi-adjustable backrest and the fold-out footrest with two ball bars hold both the backrest and the footrest in the desired positions. Model attributed to Josef Hoffmann, world-famous architect as well as of furniture pieces and objects of daily use. Bibliography referring to this rocking chair: Daniele Baroni & Antonio D'Auria, Josef Hoffmann und die Wiener Werkstaette, Stuttgart (Germany) 1984, pages 104 / 105 (please take a look, too, to second picture we added here) / Jiri Uhlir, Vom Wiener Stuhl zum Architektenmoebel (published by Boehlau - Vienna, Cologne, Weimar / 2009), pages 108-110. manufactured by Antonio Volpe Societa` Anonima, Udine.
