About the Item

Introducing an extremely rare pair of 'Elefante' modular sofas, designed by the renowned Italian architect and designer Roberto Pamio in 1973 and produced by Stilwood. Only a limited number of these sofas were made, and these are the only ones we could find available online. With the assistance of Matteo Pamio, Roberto Pamio's son, we were able to acquire documentation confirming the design. The sofas consist of eight seating elements and four armrests, with each piece connected by laces at the front and back. This playful and modular design allows for adaptability in size and shape, making it suitable for nearly any space. Upholstered in the original corduroy fabric, the sofas are in very good condition. The dark brown color has subtly faded from sun exposure, giving the fabric a warm glow that enhances their charm. As pictured: Large sofa: H:66,5cm/26.1'' W:221cm/87'' D:85cm/33.4'' seat height:36cm/14.1'' Small sofa: H:66,5cm/26.1'' W:136cm53.5'' D:85cm/33.4'' seat height:36cm/14.1'' Each seating element is 43cm/16.9'' in width. Message from Matteo Pamio, son of Roberto Pamio: Elefante stands here for simple elements that can be combined together to make up a full range of sectionals, all covered with different fabrics in variety of possible colours. The specially designed dimensions will permit you to easily and functionally meet any space and volume requirement. Roberto Pamio (b.1937) is an Italian architect and designer known for his innovative approach to architecture and urban development. He has worked on various projects that focus on sustainability and the integration of modern technologies into design. His designs are frequently inspired by the local environment and culture, resulting in unique and context-sensitive architecture. In addition to his design work, Pamio has contributed to various research projects and publications within the field of architecture, sharing his vision for the future of architectural and urban planning.
