19th Century Danish Canapé Sofa Settee Loveseat in Walnut with Upholstery
About the Item
A small and comfortable canapé or settee in figured walnut with ebonized inlaid banding. Legs are turned out of beechwood and stained. Offers upholstered arm rests, back and seat, with eight-way, hand-tied springs that have been pulled tight & padded with cotton batting. Settee was recently re-upholstered: original jute strapping was replaced with new jute, and springs were hand sewn to strapping and re-tied. Construction is excellent! The deep seat adds to its comfort, and upholstery on outside back allows it to float in a room, Denmark, circa 1870.
Wonderful at the foot of a bed, in a foyer or in front of a fireplace!
