About the Item

This stunning early 20th-century Moorish settee is a remarkable example of intricate craftsmanship and exotic design. Constructed from rich hardwood, the frame features a dazzling array of bone and mother-of-pearl inlay in geometric and floral motifs, creating a captivating contrast against the warm wood tones. The pierced backrest is adorned with arched details reminiscent of traditional Moorish architecture, lending an air of elegance and grandeur. The settee’s arms are equally ornate, with latticework panels and inlaid accents that showcase the exceptional skill of the artisan. The striped upholstered seat adds a touch of comfort while complementing the overall color palette. Raised on turned feet, this settee is both a work of art and a functional piece of furniture. There is a split in the wood of the crest rail caused by natural seasonal expansion and contraction rather than breakage. This does not affect the structural integrity of the piece. Additionally, there is some minor wear to the finish and a few small areas of inlay loss consistent with age and use. Despite this, the settee remains sturdy and visually breathtaking, making it a perfect centerpiece for any space that celebrates global or historical design. 38h x 60w x 25d seat height 18
