Custom Asian Howdah Elephant Seat

About the Item

Custom made in Thailand in the 1970’s with traditional carving and having the design based on the exquisite Elephant Seats of past centuries. Fine craftsmanship with turned spindles on the upper seat frame and curved finials. Raised on a curved spindle supported base with shaped and carved foliate scrolled panels front and back. Along with a striped seat cushion for the sturdy slatted seat and a collection of silk like coordinating toss pillows in Gray, Cantaloupe, Honeydew, Yellow and tan. Measures: wide 61", depth 26 1/2", height 28 1/2". Condition: slight wear to the ends and a few losses on the rods (Please see detail photos), some stains to the fabric on the seat and pillows, but overall presenting exceptionally well.
