About the Item
Stunning, all original, Regency gilt caned settee, expertly crafted and finished in lustrous black lacquer with refined gilt gold accents. Reflecting the classical influence of early 19th-century design, this piece features a gently arched back, elegantly turned legs, and delicate arm supports, all embellished with subtle golden highlights that enhance its sculptural form.
The handwoven cane seat and backrest offer breathable comfort while showcasing traditional artisan craftsmanship. The right side of the seat caning has come away from the frame. Bronze casters on all four legs not only speak to the piece’s authentic period detailing but also provide effortless mobility.
