About the Item
A particularly fine Louis XV style settee with an intricately and detailed carved frame comprised of masks, vines, flowers and acanthus leaves with a carved shell crest. The settee with double cane wall at sides, single at seat and back-rest and the whole resting upon 6 heavily carved legs. The settee comes with a plump feather filled cotton cushion decorated with Asian scenes within wreaths of flowers and an all-over abstract pattern in blue tones.
Dimensions: 58" L, 15 3/4" seat height without cushion, 20" seat height with cushion, 30" D and 43 1/4" H
Condition: Please see photos for details of condition. The caning with a verdigris shading throughout. There is an old repair/hairline beneath the shell crest that does not detract from the settee as well as a cane puncture to the lower back In otherwise having a fine French presentation.
