These piece is part of a suite, I have the set of four side chairs listed under my other items and a pair of leather seat base armchairs as well
This is the finest example of this type of work I have come across, the settee has double bergère or rattan meaning that for some reason, the craftsman has taken the time to weave both sides of the back rest, it takes days sometimes to do one seat of one chair so this window seat is clearly a no expensive spared commission
In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there are good honest signs of patina
