The Sumi Settee by Erickson Woodworking is a fully sculpted two person bench with a low back and continuous curves that feel as good as they look. Every Settee is made by hand, one at a time using furniture joining techniques developed by Robert and Tor Erickson since the studio was founded in 1969. The style, comfort, and function of the piece have all been designed to work together in a harmonious whole, blending form and function in a way that defines Erickson Woodworking's signature style.
With pieces in the Smithsonian's Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Yale University Art Gallery, Erickson Woodworking brings in elements of mid-century modern, California craftsman, and modern sculpture in a way that are uniquely its own.
