Steampunk Shopping Carts Loveseat or Settee

About the Item

***SUMMER SALE*** This is a one-of-a-kind creation salvage recycle of found objects by Industrial artist and welder, Doug Meyer, crafted by hand out of two vintage Mid-Century chromed steel shopping carts. Perfectly balanced, going and coming! The seat, back and side cushions are upholstered in muslin, ready for your own fabric. This settee is absolutely perfect for nursing a baby in lieu of a baby rocker or nursing chair. Also great for a mud room, terrace, porch or pool. Looks great from front, back or sides. You will notice at once how much sturdier and robust shopping carts from the 1960's were than the ones produced today. Akron, Ohio born and bred artist Doug Meyer finds inspiration in everyday Industrial trash and transforms it in his converted barn. The once Industrial rich manufacturing towns in Ohio provide the ideal raw materials for his creativity. Now 39, Meyer had learned metal handling in a trade school but has been fixated by sculpture. His style is constantly evolving and each piece is singular and one of a kind.
