This charming Stockholm settee is an excellent example of the best of Gustavian design. It was made in 1780 and signed by Johan Erik Höglander, a famous chair maker of the time, who lived and worked in Stockholm. The settee has beautiful detailed carvings of roses in the centre of the back and a series of carvings on the apron. The pale grey paint is original.
