About the Item
This is a beautiful vintage Brighton settee! The Brighton style gets its name from its roots in mid 18th century England. George IV was known to love burnt bamboo and the chinoiserie style created with heavy Chinese and Indian fashion influence. Pieces like this one were common in his seaside palace known as the "Brighton Pavilion." This piece is made in the same style with a burnt bamboo frame and came seat. The back of the settee has gorgeous intricate hand made design which is quite intricate. The curved back features many shapes including ovals, stars, and diamonds. This would be a beautiful addition to a covered porch, sunroom, or even in a living room or bedroom in a beach or coastal style home!
