These chairs where commissioned by Dutch architect Sjoerd Schamhart in 1953 for the Grotius Lyceum (school) that is now classified as a national monument in Holland Only 200 chairs where made and 120 of them survived since 1953 The chair is designed to be stackable and linkable, the seating has a drop leave function A rare and important chair that shows the transition from bauhaus/De Stijl to Dutch functionalism that started in early 50's after worldwar II Publications: Sjoerd Schamhart, architect in The Hague, Publisher 010, S. 48f. 12 chairs are available, price here is for 6 pieces as shown on photo
