About the Item

Cricket folding chair designed by Andries Van Onck, produced by Magis Italia, 1983 Andries van Onck in collaboration with Kazuma Yamaguchi. The Cricket folding chair was born of the idea to bring together simple geometric figures (a circle, a coloured oval and various black orthogonal lines). This concept is achieved by the folding of the chairs. Andries Van Onck (born in 1928 in Amsterdam) studied industrial design in Holland and then at the Hochschule Für Gestaltung in Ulm with Tomas Maldonado, Walter Zeischegg and Max Bill. From 1959, he lived in Italy, where he collaborated with the accomplished designer Ettore Sottsass Jr. Material: metal and grey-coloured plastic. Marked. Permanent collection of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
