About the Item
A Danish pair of period Rococo painted and carved-wood side chairs, with upholstered seats, from the 18th century. These antique chairs from Denmark have been created in typical Rococo fashion with beautiful asymmetrical carvings about their top crest and back-splats, with gilt accents, and concaved sides giving them a superbly curvy look. The scalloped apron and front knees are adorn with gilt leaf carvings. The chairs are presented upon cabriole legs at front and rounded legs at rear. There is a soft powder blue finish, which looks lovely against the gilt embellishments. The seats currently have a white liner on them and are in need of upholstering- the opportunity to make these your own. These period Rococo Danish side chairs will make a delightful pair of accent chairs within a living room, study or bedroom setting.
