Mahogany Classical Lyre Side Chair, Duncan Phyfe, New York, circa 1815

About
This is the famous model that Phyfe produced in the classical style. A full set is on exhibit in the Metropolitan museum and in a number of other museums showing the quintessential classical form. The inlays above the hairy paw are a figured tiger mahogany which is slightly different than the usual figured mahogany.
This chair is in perfect condition with no breaks or alterations and is the best of the form.
