Pair of Aesthetic Movement Small Folding Chairs E.W Godwin Manner
Located in Norwich, GB
A pair of Aesthetic Movement small walnut low folding decorative chairs with cane seats, in the manner of E.W. Godwin. Circa 1870s. Free delivery to the UK via a selected parcel company. The walnut frames are in very good condition and have their original patina, showing some age with use, they have been lightly waxed. One of the chairs cane seats professionally re-caned, and it has been aged to resemble the other original cane seat. This same chair has had the under rail replaced in oak with two bolts, as shown in photograph number 12. This was done many years ago - I would say about 80 plus years, looking at the construction. Also added at a similar time under the seat, one small rail either side. The wooden dome...

Fine Pair of Mahogany Dining Chairs, English George III Sheraton Period
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
These are a fine and elegant pair of English mahogany side / dining chairs from the English Sheraton Period of George III, circa 1790 and with beautifully carved detail. The chairs have square backs with flute moulded sides and have intricate crisply carved splats between. The carved top rail is linked to a Fine and delicately carved, pierced lattice-work cross splat by a rectangular panel, inlaid with box and ebony. A further lower cross rail is finely carved with individual palmettes to the underside. The square legs are vertically moulded and tapered at the front with pegged joints and connected by four stretchers for added strength. The 'drop-in' seats could easily be re-upholstered according to personal choice. The proportion of these chairs is excellent and they are made from the best Cuban mahogany which is dense and heavy. These are fine quality, English Georgian Dining...
