Midcentury Danish Oak & Leather Armchairs by Steen Eiler Rasmussen - a Pair

About the Item

Originally crafted in the 1940s, these chairs were designed by the Danish architect Steen Eiler Rasmussen. They consist of oak frames and are reupholstered with new yellow leather. Nailhead studs line the seat. Rasmussen's style marries a simple, square silhouette with subtle curved forms. Structurally, the chairs are designed with slatted backs, scrolled arms, and splayed back legs. Elegant and exuding warmth, these chairs are comfortable and sophisticated. They make for ideal side chairs or dining chairs. Dimensions: 22 in. width 19 in. depth 33 in. height 27 in. arm height 18.5 in. seat height 17 in. seat depth Condition notes: In very good condition. Minor surface wear to wood that's consistent with the chairs' age and use. Newly reupholstered with new seat underside webbing.
