About the Item

These are antique empire-style armchairs featuring elegant craftsmanship and classic design elements. The frame is made of rich, medium-toned wood with a warm, polished finish. The standout features are the gracefully curved arms, which terminate in prominent scrolls, lending the chair a refined and traditional appearance. The upholstery on the seat and backrest appears to be a light beige or cream fabric with intricate, slightly faded embroidered motifs, possibly depicting classical or neoclassical scenes and patterns. The fabric adds a delicate, historic charm to the piece. The chair's legs are slightly curved in a subtle cabriole style at the front, with straight back legs for structural stability. This chair combines both decorative and functional qualities and would be well-suited for use in a formal sitting area, study, or as an accent piece in a traditionally styled room. We do not know of any direct repair or reupholstering done to this chair - as we do not know the history of the piece. There are pieces of the upholstery that are not secure - such as trim sections - which are shown throughout the photos. These chairs are in stable condition and can be sat in - but they are antiques so should be treated with respect as we do not know the condition of the interior supports of the chairs. Originally purchased from a dealer who found them in Europe.
