Richly decorated 'Old Dutch' Oak Hand-Carved Knob chair, based on the seventeenth-century shape, ca. 1910-1940.
The Knob Chair with a rush seat is an Dutch archetype. This chair appeared in many Dutch households from the 17th century and well into the 1980s. The chair takes its name from turned knobs at the top of the backrest. The richest versions has several buttons turned in the backrest.
