About the Item

Vintage Post modern pair of Umberto Asnago "Progetti" armchairs for Giorgetti, signed, Italy, 1980. The Armchairs and footstool designed and produced by the Giorgetti Research Centre, are high shepherd's chairs with a solid beech wood structure. The armrests are made of polished pau ferro. The set is in excellent original condition. Umberto Asagno started working for Giorgetti in 1968 and became chief designer and head of their research center. He is a well-known figure in Italian design and fashion, known for his showrooms and visionary environments. The chairs are in excellent condition, the covers are easily removable and washable. Armchair in solid ebonized beech and armrests in glossy Pau Ferro, the padding of the seat and back is in polyurethane foam. Completely restored and covered in ivory velvet. Founded by Luigi Giorgetti in Brianza in 1898, the Italian design and furniture company Giorgetti stands out for the sober and elegant style, characterized by artisan tradition and innovation capacity.
