About the Item
The “Capella” sofa designed by Danish designer Illum Wikkelsø is distinguished by its solid rosewood structure, high quality manufacturing and assembly, by its perfect proportions and an identifiable attention to detail. The simple lines highlight the warmth and richness of the wood grain, also giving it a lot of elegance.
Wikkelso initially worked for Danish cabinetmaker Jacob Kjær and architects Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard until he opened his own workshop in 1954. His design combines aesthetics, simplicity and functionality and is considered a classic of the Danish modernism.
