About the Item
Magnificent “Capella” armchair designed by Danish designer Illum Wikkelsø. With beautiful proportions, its elegance is remarkably underlined by the assembly of solid rosewood and black leather cushions. The simple lines highlight the warmth and rich grain of rosewood.
Wikkelso initially worked for Danish cabinetmaker Jacob Kjær and architects Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard until he opened his own workshop in 1954. His design combines aesthetics, simplicity and functionality and is considered a classic of the Danish modernism.
