Danish 1940's Fritz Hansen Leather Sofa with New Sheepskin Seat

About the Item

Rare Danish club sofa produced in Denmark likely, circa late 1930s to early 1940's by Fritz Hansen of Denmark. Legs made from solid beech. Comfortable and super solid with nice and supportive spring-loaded seat. The leather shows a lot of noble wear and patina but no rips and tears. The seat was badly in need of getting refurbished and we rebuilt the seat entirely and reupholstered with sheepskin (S520C) from Garrett Leather. The sofa now stands very unique and very comfortable. While these sofas were more common in the Art Deco era not many have survived the passing of time and this is a great opportunity to get to own something of great character that will make a strong statement in any room. Overall very good condition.

Reupholstered. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. the seat has been fully refurbished i.e. straps replaced and coil springs retied . Topped with foam and dacron and reupholstered with Shearling (SD520C) from Garrett Leather.
