Edra Loveseat Sofa in Red Velvet--This is an Incredibly spectacular Spiral / Fibonacci Shaped Sofa!! This is a rare piece, an original Italian designer Edra Tatlin that is from a small production and not widely made. Unique and wonderful piece!
Designed as a stunning center place in the room, and loosely based on the Tatlin tower, emblem of Constructivism. A modern totem, perfect also for public spaces. It allows new possibilities of seating, offering room for more people. A true work of architecture. A real Edra icon.

Base in plywood. Base frame in lacquered steel. Backrest frame in steel. Feet in chromed steel with PVC pads. Padding in polyurethane foam of different density.
This Edra Tatlin is pre-owned, and it is in good vintage condition. Note: The Original price for a new Edra Tatlin is between 10,000-15,000 Euros! (see the last image attached here in this listing) Here we are selling for much less, because it is pre-owned. You can take advantage of this and it can be used as it is in your space, or further reupholstered to perfect it or change the color.
Condition:
Original upholstery, overall good, some minor imperfections in the fabric (no rips or tears but signs of use, such as stains and discolorations). You may want to reupholster. Looks good as it stands. It would benefit from a professional cleaning. You may want to reupholster it down the line and customize it to your space. However it is structurally sound and overall in good used condition. The chrome of the legs is in excellent condition with less than expected wear. Can certainly be used as is with some cosmetic imperfections. Please see the video and and images to further indicate condition.
Tatlin Tower
The "Third International Monument" by Vladmir Tatlin was designed shortly after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. Although this monument was never erected, it was conceived as a modernist steel. The building of the glass constructor would have said the height of the famous Eiffel Tower in France. The design of the Tatlin sofa was inspired by its iconic shape of the "tatlin tower" - its sculptural shape immediately becomes the center of every interior decoration in which it is placed. The cover is made of velvet, its inner spiral frame is the result of the exquisite technical design and the manufacture of molded stainless steel.
Tatlin Sofa for museums, hotels & public places
This unusual piece of furniture was designed by Marion Cananzi and Roberto Semprini for the label Edra. The sofa, which, because of its extraordinary shape, finds its place more in the hotel lobby or in the museum, since this is the place needed for this multifunctional sofa. The sofa in the middle of the room is inspired by the constructivist symbol of the Tatlin Tower. It offers various seating positions and space for several people. A true architectural masterpiece.

The Tatlin sofa is based on the spiral Tatlin tower, which can be placed very well in the middle of a room when it is to become the star of the room. The sofa consists of a plywood base with metal fees, and the spiral is a real technical work of shaped and forged steel. The filling is made of polyurethane foam, which is covered with velvet.

Edra
The name Edra is derived from the Greek word exedra, meaning a space for conversation and socialization. True to its name, the Italian furniture manufacturer creates beautiful seating like sofas and armchairs, as well as coffee tables and end tables to go with them. Its unique and heritage-quality modern pieces are sure to become the classics of tomorrow.
Edra was established in 1987 in Tuscany with the goal of combining traditional craftsmanship and technological innovation into a new style of collectible design. The company wanted to challenge established ideas about how living room furniture such as chairs, tables and cabinets are to look and function, deploying cutting-edge materials and working with unique shapes to produce exciting designs that disrupted the design world.
Part of Edra’s success has been due to its fruitful collaborations with acclaimed designers. The company has worked with Italian designer Francesco Binfare since 1992, producing the iconic Tangeri, Angels, Flap and Essential seating collections. Jacopo Foggini, known for his own innovative designs, is another frequent Edra collaborator. In 2022, Edra and Foggini released the sea-inspired A'mare collection of translucent blue outdoor furniture made from polycarbonate.
Edra has also represented Italy on several international sporting stages. The company was an official furniture supplier for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang and the 2022 Alpine Skiing World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Since its founding, the company's contemporary furniture has been added to museums around the world. Today, Edra's designs are held in the collections of New York City’s Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
In 2022, Edra also exhibited at the Salone Del Mobile, where the brand debuted a chic, pebble-inspired sofa — On the Rocks — that demonstrates the company's continued commitment to originality and ingenuity.
