WW Barbour attained renown for a variety of accomplishments. In 1910, he became the Amateur Heavy Weight Champion of the US and Canada. Through his brief career as a boxer, he became friends with Teddy Rosevelt because of his love of the sport and was an official time-keeper for the famous Dempsey-Willard fight in 1919.
