English George Smith Style Kilim Design Upholstered Sofa
About the Item
Grand bespoke upholstered sofa made in the style and manner of George Smith and Howard & Sons. Crafted from a hardwood frame measuring 8 feet long with English rolled arms. The sofa features a stunning tribal style printed Kilim fabric with intricate designs. The sofa is topped with thick, heavy down filled seat cushions for ultimate comfort. The fabric has an intentionally aged and faded patina like a vintage Kilim rug. Very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The bottom of the sofa has a pleated skirt. The custom sofa is from an estate in the Napa Valley, CA. It is becoming more and more rare to find this style of English sofa in the United States with Kilim upholstery. This sofa benefits from having Kilim style fabric that is softer and more luxurious that the stiff sofas crafted from vintage rugs using antique wool fabric.
