Guido Faleschini "Teorema" Modular Sofa for Mariani, 1974
About the Item
Guido Faleschini “Teorema” Modular Sofa for Mariani, Italy, 1974
Guido Faleschini designed this rare modular sofa as a part of the "Teorema" collection for Mariani in 1974. As Mario Bellini in the "Camaleonda" sofa, Faleschini created an unconventional sofa featuring different modular elements, easily movable to customize the composition. Each module is unique for its unusual shapes and the inclusion of details such as leather straps and metal shelves. This playful piece of furniture allows you to enjoy changing the layout and creating a redesigned space thanks to its combination of curves, corners, volumes, and holes. The "Teorema" sofa is upholstered with the original velvet, wears a nice patina, and is marked with the Mariani logo underneath.
After training as an architect in Milan, Guido Faleschini (1924) started his design career collaborating with furniture companies in Brianza and Switzerland, such as Artflex, Mariani and Chromo. He also developed residential projects with an attentive eye for experimentation and combining designs.
Our atelier carefully restored this sofa. Slight signs of use and time.

Ulbald Klug DS-1025 "Terrazza" Sofa for De Sede, 1974
By De Sede, Ubald Klug
Located in Lonigo, Veneto
Ulbald Klug DS-1025 "Terrazza" sofa for De Sede, leather, Switzerland, 1974.
Ubald Klug designed this rare modular DS-1025 "Terrazza" sofa as a real living landscape. Each element recalls a terrace-like, stepped slope with different widths and depths. A valley or a mountain can appear depending on how the individual modules are assembled. The "Terrazza" was recreated thanks to the De Sede manufacturer and its ability to transform high-quality leather into seating furniture. This multi-layered upholstered relief invites people to sit or lie down, combining durability and comfort with a unique design.
After training at the Art and Design College in Zurich, Ulbald Klug (1932) gained further experience in architectural practices in Zurich and Helsinki. Paris has been his sphere of activity since 1966, when he founded his architecture and interior design bureau. Klug proved himself successful at finding solutions to different challenges and developed non-conformist solutions - from furniture design, to concepts for urban installations, to architectural prototypes...
