Late 1950s Striking Visual Couch with Jack Lenor Larsen Fabric

About the Item

You are viewing a one of a kind couch in the manner of Fabio Lenci, but much nicer! We know the Lenci quality which is great, but we can speak from a visual standpoint that this exceeds any of those pieces and this is why. This piece was made by an part time designer in the late 1950s who was friends with Larson during his days with Knoll, in and around 1956. The family that had this piece indicated to us, that even-though this fabric has been seen on many 1960s and 1970s pieces that it was one of Larsen early fabric designs. There was extra fabric that Fritz and Hollander acquired from the estate, but was sold. The couch: The Lucite sides are thick (1.5 inches) and custom made for this couch. Please take note of the flat head screws, unusually large and fitting for a piece like this. Very high quality and exceptional. The leather strapping under the cushions are in superb condition, no breaks, very sturdy with just a warm patina. The only wear is on the lower bottom on the sides of the Lucite, which in our opinion is very insignificant but mentioned. Otherwise very clean for its age. The cushions to this day are in great condition, meaning vibrant color and firmness. As a suggestion: We can make by our fine upholsters workmanship, black leather cushions that would looking very rich with this couch frame. Of course you keep the Jack Lenor Larsen fabric and change it up from time to time if you like. There will be a extra cost to do the leather cushions and we will pass our cost over to you.
