Handsome Lawson style sofa in its original olive colored wide wale corduroy fabric by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. This sofa is unmarked, but we do have the original sales invoice from when it was purchased in 1966. It is in wonderful original vintage condition. We have cleaned the upholstery and repaired a small tear in the back corner of one of the seat cushions, so it could be used as is. However, it would be fabulous recovered. This long low style sofa does sit very low to the floor. Circa 1960s. Long low and lean. This is quite the modern sofa. Originally designed by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. Two of the most revered names in the home furnishing world. This sofa, however, is unmarked but we do have the original sales invoice from Thayer Coggin for when it was purchased in 1966. Still sporting its original wide wale corduroy or ribbed velvet, as the designers called it in a piece of correspondence to the home owner. The fabric is usable, apart from a repair that has been made to a back corner of one of the cushions and has been cleaned. But, how fantastic would this be in a gorgeous mohair, velvet, or leather? This shape sofa is called a Lawson style with its square profile and arm height stepped down from the back height with the arms extending to the front of the sofa. This Baughman example was called the D 1350 in olive, it has three seat cushions and three loose back cushions, all with zipper closings. There are no legs on this sofa. It sets on a very dark stained plinth base which is recessed slightly on all four sides. This handsome iconic Thayer Coggin sofa is very versatile. Whether you have a mid-century modern décor or live in an industrial loft, or even have a rustic, primitive, country, or traditional décor. We know you will love it. You must make it your own. Gorgeous vintage mid-century modern turquoise Lawson style 4 cushion sofa attributed to Milo Baughman for James Inc. Comprised of four loose zippered seat cushions, six tapered walnut legs, and turquoise hopsacking fabric with back button detail. This piece has been attributed based upon archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The sofa deck has new fabric plus a new dust cover. It also has its original arm covers. We repaired a button with fabric found on bottom. It has been professionally shampooed. Legs were refinished. The foam in the cushions is soft, however it could use some more padding and new zippers. We have priced accordingly. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid-20th Century. Tremendous style and TERIFFIC-LY TURQUOISE!!!! Wow!!! This is a gorgeous vintage mid-century modern Lawson style four cushion sofa Attributed to Milo Baughman for James Inc. It wears its original hopsacking fabric which is comprised of lovely turquoise and green threads that create a gorgeous dark turquoise hue. It’s a phenomenal color with back button details!! It has four loose seat cushions with soft foam, but they could benefit from a bit more padding which would be easily achieved as they have zippers.
