Mario Papperzini for Salterini Rare Three-Seat Outdoor Sofa for Salterini, 1960s

About the Item

A breathtakingly beautiful sofa designed by Mario Papperzini and manufactured by John Salterini in the 1960s. This unique example features the incredibly rare triple-X stretcher base and high back. We've only ever seen 2 or 3 other examples of this variation. Additional features include solid iron construction with hand tooled details and ball finials. The frame of the sofa retains its original verdigris patina which has only gotten more striking with age. We have elevated the piece and maximized comfort by adding heavy feather down seat and back cushions, as well as bolsters, all upholstered in a high quality ivory Sunbrella fabric. This luxurious sofa will never go out of style. It is ready for another 60 years of life. It may be used outdoors or indoors.
