The graceful and simple MCM lines, quality craftsmanship and upholstery captured my attention with this Gerard sofa from the Dessin Fournir Collections. In particular, the richly saturated grey-brown-olive tones of the velvet upholstery (that resembles the nuanced color of tabaco), gives it an unusual depth. Dessin Fournir sofas, in general, and those by Gerard Van Den Berg, are rare to find on Chairish and other online home-furnishings venues.
Designed by the Dutchman, Gerard Van Den Berg, who is sought after for his re-interpretations of mid-century design and iconic forms. This piece was built in Holland to the highest standards of craftsmanship and materials, consistent with the Holland's rich furniture-making tradition. He has a notable following among international buyers and collectors.

- Condition:Minor fading. This piece is in excellent condition overall. There are 3 very small areas on the back of the sofa that appear to be natural imperfections (fading) in the fabric color. They are minor, and obscured by way light hits variable tones of the velvet.
