About the Item
This beautifully restored Paul Frankl-inspired Mid-century two-strand transitional arm 3-seat sofa with arched base. This sofa features a unique rattan pole back with fancy wrappings at the joints. The arm is indicative of the transitional sofa pieces that stormed America's shores after WWII in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The bridged base also accentuates the curvature and craftsmanship to shape rattan.
Included in the price is a custom choice of our fabrics for cushions. Please select a fabric 10 through 17. Fred Lauper, Beverly Hills Hotel "Martinique" fabric is also available.
The cushions pictured in these photos are for display use only. All cushions are C.O.M. (customer's own material) simply send us your Fabric and we will have the cushions made for you included in your purchase.
New cushions take 2 weeks to be completed. We always have white Naugahyde cushions in stock.

Tropical Sun Rattan was started in 1934 at 117 West Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. By 1938 we had showrooms in the Los Angeles and San Francisco furniture marts and have been selling rattan furniture ever since. We moved to the famous Melrose Ave in the 1970s and combined our storefront with Harvey's in West Hollywood. “Harvey wrote the book on rattan furniture in 1997.” We buy, refinish, and sell vintage rattan and have the biggest stock of vintage rattan in the world! We have a selection of rattan designed by Milo Baughman, Paul Lazlo, Paul Frankl, Shirley Ritts, and Tropical Sun Rattan.
Custom cushions C.O.M. (Customers Own Material) are included in the prices. Supply the fabric and we have the cushions made for you. All rattan, bamboo, and wicker furniture has been painstakingly refurbished to the highest standards using the best materials. Rattan workers do all refinishing with over 30 years' experience. Every wrapping and joint has been inspected by “The Rattan Man” Harvey Schwartz. He guarantees you the finest product available for years to come for your home or office.
Harvey Schwartz is the leading expert in vintage rattan and the author of “Rattan Furniture: Tropical Comfort Throughout the House”. Signed copies are available on request for $39.99. The hardbound 160 page full-color book details the fascinating history of rattan with wonderful vintage and modern photos of tropical decors and rattan.
