About the Item

Two-seater sofa lacquered metal frame leather seats designer Pierluigi Cerri for Poltrona Frau early 1980s. The sofa includes lacquered metal coffee table with top in marble measures L 85 D 85 H 34. Sofa size only L 210 In the 1960s, Poltrona Frau began to open its doors to collaborations with big names in design and architecture. In 1965, Gio Ponti, first among them, signed the Dezza armchair, which won the prestigious Tecnhotel award in Genoa. This victory is attributed to its easy assemblage and the fact that it fully represents the formal and conceptual characteristics typical of designer Gio Ponti. Two years later, a collaboration begins with Luigi Massoni, who serves as art director, and in 1968 he designs Lullaby, a revolutionary, all-round bed. In 1970, the logo underwent a restyling by Mimmo Castellano. In the 1980s, Poltrona Frau collaborated with important figures such as Pierluigi Cerri, Tito Agnoli, Gae Aulenti, Franco Bettonica, Marco Zanuso and, since the second half of the 1980s, Lella and Massimo Vignelli. With the latter, in particular, the company contributes to the restyling of RAI's TG2 thanks to the development of the Intervista armchair. This product becomes a symbol of simplicity and functionality, embodying the aesthetics and practicality that characterize the Vignellis' work. They also design for Poltrona Frau Michele De Lucchi, Luca Scacchetti, Emilio Ambasz, Jean Nouvel and many others. The 1980s saw the launch of two new business areas: custom interiors, with the creation of the Sala Frau Auditorium in Spoleto, and Interiors in Motion, with the creation of the first automotive interiors for the Lancia Thema 8.32 with engine Ferrari. When you purchase vintage design products on our website, the cost includes secure and careful packaging. Each item will be protected with a wooden crate or suitable packing materials to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
