Regency Mahogany Frame Sofa, England, Circa 1815

About the Item

This smart classical Regency sofa has a sturdy mahogany frame. Its clean lines make it perfect for use in an eclectic or period environment. It provides comfortable seating for 3 and can be used in a living room or foyer. The mahogany is shaped in a simple form. Hand-carved Greek caryatids at the ends of the arms and hoofed animal feet are the work of a highly-skilled craftsman -- understated yet handsome. It's trim size makes this couch perfect for small or tight spaces. The period frame is in excellent condition, with an old French polish finish. It is currently upholstered in an orange iridescent silk fabric with underlayment that is ready for your or your client's fabric.
